Blue Funnel Limited is a sister company to the Menzell & Döhle Group – a leading global ships agency company that has been operating since 1891. Blue Funnel was set up in 2019 to expand Menzell & Döhle’s reach to East Africa.

Liner Shipping
We provide full liner agency services with a team of highly experienced and dedicated staff who are available 24/7.
A team of experienced personnel focus on port operations and vessel clearance to ensure vessel turnaround is executed as efficiently as possible. We also have a committed team in charge of equipment control. And our specialised documentation personnel are always willing to work overtime to ensure quick & secure release of your cargo documents.
With an office in Nairobi (Kenya) we can offer more effective marketing & sales and give our customers dedicated contacts to handle their needs. We care about our customers which is why 'after sales' follow up and claims handling have always been part of the core service we offer.
Port Agency
We play a critical role that links charterers, ship owners and operators, port authorities and other maritime stakeholders.
We understand that you, our customers, need to save time and money in order to stay competitive and grow. So we work to ensure your vessel berths quickly and discharges her cargo as efficiently and safely as possible. We pride ourselves on our attention to detail and understanding of the need for accurate / detailed SOFs for voyage laytime calculations.
All our operators are available to serve you 24/7 and deliver fast, accurate, and effective communication to ensure a quicker and more cost-effective vessel turnaround. And we always provide competitive and transparent pro-forma disbursements accounts as well as quick dispatch of final cargo documents and invoices once vessel sails.
Husbandry & crew handling
We have established long-term relationships with 3rd party contractors that offer value for money and deliver stores, victuals, freshwater, bunkers, hull cleaning and other services requested. Our in-house specialised logistics team co-ordinate timely delivery of spares to the vessel, as well and handling over ship’s mail and your local procurement needs. We arrange crew transfers, hotel bookings and also have credit facilities with hospitals allowing immediate crew admission. Our better relationship with Immigration enables us to efficiently prepare temporary work permits for international technicians required to carry out specialised repair works.
Logistics
We specialise in spare parts delivery and due to our unique and extensive operational experience we have created a strong niche in this market locally. We have a number of loyal customers who really appreciate our 'hands-on' approach.
Our logistics team also provide forwarding & customs clearance for various cargo types and offer NVOCC services as well.
As an added value extra, we offer local advisory services to many of our international and local customers. And on request, we are happy to undertake a project cargo management role to ensure a cost-effective and highly co-ordinated process is achieved.
